Christian Education

Christian Education at Union Congregational exists to engage youth and adults in their faith exploration and learning in and around the church and the Bible. We do this through Sunday School classes, adult Bible study, and community outreach with the youth.

Our goals are to engage not just adults in the church or just the youth in the church separately but also bring them together for larger faith exploration and community building.

We try to meet these goals by encouraging other church members to join us to share their experiences and faith based activities with the youth. We also host events like the Escape Room and Game Nights to encourage youth and adult member interactions and experiences.

Sunday School Classes

This year we are using a curriculum created by Sparkhouse, an imprint of 1517 Media, called 'Connect'. Connect helps youth journey through the Old and New Testaments, using videos, hands on projects, and exploring themes of the Bible by examining connections between several stories each week.

Bible Study

Bible Study happens online every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.  This is a Zoom connection so that everybody can participate:

Kids4Action

We have an outreach program for the youth in the church called 'Kids4Action' which was started as a way for the children and youth to be involved in fundraising and donation efforts to organizations of the kids' choosing and interests. The largest fundraising event is our annual Super Bowl Subs fundraiser. Through this event, the youth have donated monies to the Heifer Project, End 68 Hours of Hunger, New England K9 Search and Rescue, Monadnock Kitty Rescue in Jaffrey, and ColdSprings Healing Paws in New Ipswich.
